Nuttin' Could be Finer than Christmas in Carolina

Max, Ethel, Mary, Linda, Russ, Noel, David, Daniel, Rachel and Nancy headed to SC for Christmas. We couldn't believe we were doing it!!!!! It was an amazing time. We arrived at Katie and Ron's and then headed to the beach house. At the beach house we enjoyed walking, riding bikes, putting puzzles together, visiting and eating. We spent Christmas day at Katie's. It was a great time together, except for the guys getting lost! We visited Fort Moultrie with it's exciting film presentation! We took a boat to Fort Sumter and saw Charleston from the harbor view. We visited the market and bought lots of goodies. We ate shrimp, oysters, crab legs and deviled crab. We enjoyed lots of time together just visiting. Linda, Noel and Ron took the Gullah tour and did another visit to the market. We headed home stopping in Nashville to tour the Country Music Hall of Fame. At Paduca we separated. The van headed on home and the truck went to see Superman at Metropolis. The next day they visited the arch before heading home.

2008 Family Fling a Success!

The family got together on June 22-25 for our annual Family/Friend Fling. We camped at River Front Campground. We had 25 people attend this year. Newbies included: Katie, Kathleen, Peg & Henry Horman, Tim & Ian and Zoe-Chloe. We had perfect weather all three days. Monday we did some tubing from our campsite to the public access just past Bennett Springs. Tuesday was the float from Moon Valley to our campground. The current was swift and we enjoyed individually floating the rapids at lunch time. We ate and ate and ate some more. We sang, visited, swam and we ate! Max and Ethel did some trout fishing catching their limit every day. Tim, Ian and Wayne also fished with mixed success. I'm not naming names, but one of those people named never caught a fish! We enjoyed sitting around the campfire visiting, reminiscing and laughing. Mark your calendars for next year - June 21-24, 2009!

California Christmas

Hello everyone! Marc, Meagan, Tyler and I flew out to California on Dec. 22nd to spend Christmas with Sandi, Tim, Gunner and Jordan. The trip was our present to each other. We had an awesome time. Just an extra hour of extra layover time spent in the Las Vegas airport due to weather conditions but wasn't bad. Marc played one slot machine ... we had never visited Vegas... he had to try it out! We enjoyed just being together. Much Skip Bo played. Walks around the neighborhood (70 degrees most days). Marc took his golf clubs so he and Tim played twice. Sandi and I shopped. The cousins went to a show. Meagan and Jordan sang karoke together. Christmas Day we visited with Tim's family. One day was spent at the desert. Riding the new Articat (the red vehicle you see in the picture), the 4 wheelers and Gunner rode his motorbike. All "sand toys" get loaded up in their camper ... amazing and off to the desert they go. The girls enjoyed time in the jacuzzi in the evenings. One evening the men even joined us. We had to come back home on the 27th!
This coming week Shane comes home on leave for a few days and we will have Christmas with the Graver's soon.

Christmas

Merry Christmas Everyone! It's been a busy time. Hope you all have had wonderful time with family and friends. See comment to read about what happened at the Thomas household.

We enjoyed Christmas at our house this year. Mom, Dad, Katie and Chris came up on Christmas Eve day and stayed for Christmas. On the 24th we went sledding, snowboarding and threw a few snowballs. We went to church and took a tour of the lights in Chillicothe. Christmas morning found us opening presents and the biggest surprise of all - Daniel and Rachel got a 4-wheeler! After an afternoon of riding, Mom, Dad, Katie and Chris headed for Sweet Springs. Nancy and the kids came down the next day to celebrate Christmas with Aunt Mary, Russ and Linda. After an exciting game of Big Fish, Little Fish plus other games, we headed to Marshall to meet the family for more eating and visiting. We stayed at Mom and Dad's until Friday afternoon. Enjoying our time together visiting and eating and playing games.
